Sound insulation of single-layered structures in air and under water with experimental verification

Abstract
Based on the acoustic wave theory and using transfer matrices,we propose a theoretical model of sound insulation of single-layered structures with perpendicular incidence both in the air and under water.Numerical simulation and comparative analysis are carried out.Using an armor plate as a sample,similarity of sound insulation characteristics in the air and under water is experimentally verified.This study provides a comparison between the trends of single-layered sound insulation in the air and under water.
