Time delay estimation based on noise-canceling

  • A time delay estimation method based on noise canceling called TDENC (Time Delay Estimation based on Noise-Canceling) is proposed to improve the time delay estimation performance when the background noise is correlative. A TDENC model is formed firstly in this paper, and then computer simulations are carried out to study the performance and applicable range of TDENC. Simulation results show that in the case of low SNR and strong correlation between noises, TDENC method is obviously superior to the conventional methods, but the main lobe is broad. However, when SNR is high, the performance of TDENC is worse than the conventional method. The experimental data processing results agree well with the simulation.
