Abstract:
In order to meet the requirement of NC-15 noise evaluation curve for indoor background noise in the design of the Concert Hall of Tianjin Juilliard School, the concert hall adopts a box-in-box structure. Between the inner and outer boxes, large damping spring vibration absorbers are used to isolate the entire building, and the noise of the heating, venlitation and air conclitioning (HVAC) system is strictly controlled. Large-area adjustable soundabsorbing drapes are designed for adjusting the reverberation time. The reflection boards are evenly arranged and micro-diffusers are properly placed to ensure a uniform sound field. Through room acoustics simulation, acoustic scale model testing and other architectural acoustics design methods, as well as acoustic inspection and guidance in the whole construction process, the qualities of civil engineering and interior completion of the concert hall all meet the acoustic design requirements. The indoor background noise of the concert hall meets the NC-15 noise evaluation curve, and the mid-frequency unoccupied reverberation time can be adjusted from about 1.45 s to 2.45 s by using sound-absorbing drapes, with an adjustment range of 1s. This provides a reference for the design and construction of similar projects in China.
