Abstract:
As the population is aging, the aging-friendly living environment is becoming more and more significant, and the community soundscape is one of the keys. In order to study the soundscape perception of the elderly, 5 residential communities are selected respectively in Fuzhou and Taiyuan. The time spans of field research are three different seasons of two years. With physical parameter measurement, subjective questionnaires, data statistical analysis, the characteristics and influencing factors of soundscape perception of the elderly residents in different regions are explored. The results indicate that there are the common characteristics of the elderly people's perception for different sound sources and the common preference for different soundscapes in the two cities. The sound of birds is the most positive soundscape element, while the soundscape of traffic and construction sounds shows a certain degree of noise tolerance. On the other hand, the differences between the two cities include the perception of flowing water sounds caused by different climate and the perception of selling sounds influenced by regional culture. This study provides some supplement and improvement for the research of soundscape perception in elderly communities, and the relevant conclusions can provide a reference for the soundscape design and environmental quality improvement of aging communities in different regions.
