Through field measurement, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis, this paper explores the influence of soundscape on residents' sense of place. The results show that: in terms of soundscape elements, the preference degree of traditional commercial sound and the perception frequency of recreational activity sound are significantly positive with the sense of place and place attachment, while the preference degree of leisure activity sound is significantly positive with the place identity. In the evaluation of historic and cultural areas, the residents' understanding of the history of the areas and the evaluation of the degree of cultural preservation show a significant positive relationship with the sense of place, place attachment and place identity. The research conclusions provide a theoretical reference for the soundscape design of historic and cultural areas, so as to guide the preservation and renewal of historic and cultural areas enabled by soundscape.
