Abstract:
Traffic noise prediction is an important part in highway construction and use processes. Accurately predicting the contribution of traffic noise to sensitive points on both sides of the highway can provide strong technical support for noise control. In this paper, a mathematical model for traffic noise calculation is derived from the sound energy generated by the moving sound sources at the prediction point, and it is verified by laboratory test and field test that the difference between the measured value and the predicted value is less than 3 dB(A). Therefore, the applicability of the mathematical model to noise prediction is confirmed. Then, the model is used to calculate the lengths of highway that affects the noises at certain sensitive points, and some constructive suggestions are put forward for the noise control.
